It's Birthday Season!
Our girls are getting so big!
Lillian turned 2 last month and now Audrey is 5 - it's hard to believe!
We have had a long, cold, snowy winter and are very excited that it will be the first day of spring on Thursday! With our last snowfall on Monday, this officially became the second snowiest winter in recorded history for Philadelphia!
We spent most of our weekends this winter looking at houses. The poor girls, often during Lillian's nap time on the weekends, had to climb in and out of the car in the cold weather. But it looks like we finally were successful and have found a house we love. Hopefully everything goes smoothly and we will close on May 7th.
Audrey has been doing really well at school and started kindergarten at the end of January. We almost wish she had switched sooner, she is loving it and really thriving. Her reading and writing skills are progressing so quickly, it's exciting to see! Here is a video last month of her reading, and she really has advanced since then!
Lillian is also enjoying her class at preschool. She is counting and saying her ABCs and can say pretty much anything. It's quite funny to hear her say hippopotamus. She is still very active and loves to follow Audrey around and imitate her.
Here are the girls doing art:
And here is Lillian on her birthday!
The awesome cake that Michael made:
Nana & Lillian, we were so glad that Nana was able to come for Lillian's birthday:
Nana brought Canada shirts for Michael & Uncle Dave:
Audrey has been experimenting with my camera. Here is one of her self-portraits:
Michael's dad came down for Audrey's birthday and we had a whole week of celebrations. We started with dinner in Hoboken with Uncle Dave:
And we ended the week with Audrey's party with her friends. She had made a new year's wish to learn how to ice skate, so we went ice skating for her birthday! It was quite a spectacle to see the group of 5 year olds (and some of the parents!) when they first went out on the ice. But Audrey did great and had a blast! She fell a few times, but got up and got right back to it.
And we had our first grocery store cake for Audrey's birthday. A Disney "Frozen" cake seemed appropriate for an ice skating party.
My big girl.
I had been making a video of each of the girls on their birthdays so far, but was running behind this year. (I'm still using pregnancy as an excuse!) But the other night we had fun making a few short videos...here is one for now!
We are looking forward to an extremely exciting spring with a new baby and a new house. I will do my best to keep everyone updated!

Happy New Year!!
This has been the longest hiatus we've ever taken from the blog. Sorry for our extended absence, but it's been an exhausting fall. I have been completely knocked out by the combination of first trimester exhaustion, adjusting to not having Nana around any more, and being very busy with work and the girls!
For those of you who don't know yet, we are expecting a new addition to our family in May of this year. We are very excited to meet our third little girl. Audrey was initially disappointed to find out that we were having another girl, but she has quickly warmed up to the idea.
Audrey and Lillian started a new school in September and having been doing really well. They have a lot of fun and are learning so much. Audrey proudly tells everyone that she is 4 and 3/4 and is excited to turn 5. She is starting to read, which is very exciting for us.
Lillian is almost two now! Her speech is progressing very quickly, and while it isn't always clear, she is able to say short sentences. My current favorite that she says is, "I like that song!" She is still a big music fan. She is still on the small side, but seems to be doing well in her physical development. She loves to dance and jump.
Although I've been tired, we've still managed to have lots of good times this fall.
We went to visit Uncle Dave (and his new fiancee Aya) in Central Park:
We had lots of fun celebrating Halloween:
Ingrid, Audrey, Kira and Lillian:
Audrey continues to show her flair for fashion:
Out for a walk with the Garcia's at Forbidden Drive:
And we had a great visit when Auntie Chrystal, Cousin Adele & Jonny and Papa came to town:
Audrey and Adele were very big girls and had their own table at the restaurant:
And they had a blast at the Please Touch Museum:
We have had several snowfalls this year, which Audrey is always excited about!
Audrey had her Christmas recital for ballet, they did Rudolph.
We had multiple Christmases! This was our early Christmas in Philadelphia before we left for Toronto:
Audrey and Lillian had so much fun with all the cousins in Toronto. Here she is with Sofia.
These are almost all the kids of the cousins on Michael's dad's side of the family:
Big cousins and the little cousins:
One of my favorite photos - Audrey realizing that Santa was her Avo (Michael's dad). She ran up to me to tell me that his hand looked familiar and that it sounded like Avo.
The cousins on Michael's mom's side. This was the best we could do!
Uncle Dave and Auntie Aya came to visit for New Year's Day and Uncle Dave made us some yummy french toast!
We are so excited to see what the new year will bring. We are looking for a house to buy and hope to move this spring. Then the baby will arrive just in time for summer! I will do my best to keep everyone more up to date. We wish you all a wonderful new year!!
